ParCo grew out of the simple idea that local community led development could be more effective than top-down international development.
Juliet joined forces with her neighbors and emerging change-makers in 2018 after stepping away from a 15-year-long career in international NGOs. Creating collaborations with diverse partners, ParCo is helping poverty-challenged communities find a path to lasting solutions.
One of the first successful partnerships began when Ilidio Cole and his friends brought their Beach Clean concept to ParCo after meeting at an open meeting about plastic litter.
In 2019, Ildio became ParCo’s Coordinator. He holds a bachelors degree from the Eduardo Mondlane School of Rural Development (ESUDER) where he did a thesis on sustainable fishing. He currently coordinates Beach Clean, Seahorse Protection and Environmental Education programs.
